Some people find difficulty to find love and romance the second time around because of frustration. Relationship failures or fall out are the result of personality incompatibilities that usually lead to divorce, separation or estrangement or a break up.

Picking up the pieces after a break up is definitely an arduous task people go through. Due to the traumatic experience of the relationship breakup, some people (men and women alike) feel that a working relationship is impossible to achieve and at times may even become cynical about the whole thing.

Keep the Fire Burning
Some relationships begin to falter after the first six months. One of the parties (or both) sometimes feels that there is something missing in the relationship at this stage. When this happens, both parties automatically assume there is something wrong with them or that they are at fault; this may be due to over familiarity, doing the same thing over and over again or getting too engrossed in work activities that results in collateral damage to an otherwise healthy relationship.

You can avoid this pitfall by keeping the fire burning in your relationship. Make sure that all your activities together are not monotonous and commonplace. You can spend a weekend camping, have a night out on the beach with some friends, watch ball games together or drive cross country on a long weekend. On week nights, you may want just to spend the evening having dinner at the garden or the rooftop if you live in a high rise, watch a play or simply go slumming with some friends.

The key is to make sure that activities done together are not favorable to just one of the partners but to both since a relationship is a two way street.

Never fail to express your love and affection to your partner – no matter how long you have been together or married! It is always surprising for men and women alike to find notes and messages of expressions of love, care and thoughtfulness from their partners even if there is no occasion and more so if both are busy with their careers.

Never leave out your partner even if you have a work related problem. Allowing this to happen contributes to misunderstandings and feelings of insecurities on the part of the partner who is left out.

Remember, there is no perfect relationship but there is such a thing as a wonderful and working relationship that can weather all storms if trust, thoughtfulness and caring are expressed by both partners, regardless of the situation.

It takes some effort to get into a relationship and more so to keep in going strong!
